The real little italy is in the bronx

A Unique Enclave of 100 year old shops

Since the 1970s, many Italian families have moved from Arthur Avenue to the suburbs, but they never stopped coming back. Why? Because nothing could replace the quality found here. The butchers, bakers, and fishmongers—many in business for over 100 years—still carry on the old-world traditions that generations of Italians, local families, chefs, and food lovers refuse to let fade away.

This tour is your invitation into that ritual. As we walk through the neighborhood, you’ll taste on the go—learning what to order at each shop, how to spot the very best, and the history behind it all. Just like the families who return every weekend, we’ll end with a sit-down lunch at Mario’s, a beloved neighborhood restaurant open since 1919.

Arthur Avenue isn’t just a neighborhood—it’s a living tradition, sustained by people who know that quality, authenticity, and history can’t be faked.

"We walked through all the stores, and it was this giant, happy sensory overload. Every business had such a sense of history, and every item had a personality."
