All of our tours start outside in front of the Arthur Avenue Retail Market at 2344 Arthur Avenue. If you're navigating by GPS, make sure to use the address 2344 Arthur Avenue as Google often loads the address of the loading dock on Hughes Avenue.
How do i get to Arthur avenue?
Take Metro North's Harlem Line to the Fordham Station. (17 minutes from Grand Central Station. We strongly recommend this route vs. the subway. Parking is available on the street or in the municipal parking lot directly across the street from the Arthur Avenue Retail Market (2344 Arthur Avenue.) Enter the municipal parking lot at 2356 Hoffman Street.

Relax and enjoy an espresso or cappuccino at Caffé & Gelato, just inside the Arthur Avenue Retail Market (2344 Arthur Avenue). Tell our friends Pietro and Amalia that you're waiting for the food tour. We also recommend their pistachio crusted cannoli.
If you need the restroom, find it in the far, right corner of the Arthur Avenue Retail Market, just behind Mike's Deli. It's upstairs.
I'm running late! What should I do?
The tour begins at 2344 Arthur Avenue and then generally proceeds next to Calandra's at 2314 Arthur Avenue. Send a text to 917-881-3918 if you can't find us.
how much walking will we do?
Our 2.5 hour tour covers about 8 city blocks of walking. We don't officially sit down at any one spot, but there are tables and chairs throughout the tour if you need to take a break. Always wear comfortable shoes and check the weather ahead of time. Our tours run rain or shine.
Will the tour be cancelled due to bad weather?
We don't want you to miss out on your tour just because of a little rain so most tours will go ahead in all weather conditions. However, if tours are cancelled under extreme circumstances, your leader will contact you to move your tour to another day. For that reason, please make sure your booking includes a phone number or email address where we can contact you while you're travelling.
Can I shop during the tour or should I wait until the food tour is complete?
We encourage you to shop during the tour. Moreover, some things like the white chocolate bread at Madonia or the buratta at Joe's Deli might be sold out by the time you make it back. However, if you want to make a custom order at a butcher shop, that would be best done after the tour. Bring a large shopping bag or backpack as you won't be able to resist taking a few goodies home, even if you are traveling from far outside the New York area.
How many people will be on the tour?
The maximum size for our daily tour is 12 guests. Private groups may be larger.
Are your tours accessible for people with physical disabilities?
We try to make our tours accessible whenever we can, but unfortunately, some destinations may be challenging for those with wheelchairs or other assistive devices
Do you cater to people with dietary restrictions?
When you book your trip, please make a note of any allergies we should know about. Please note, though, that in some destinations there may be limited or no options for dietary needs. This tour includes samples of bread, pastry, cheese and meat. We have had many happy vegetarian guests on our trips, but vegan and gluten-free guests may not be able to enjoy the full scope of samples.

Can I change my booking?
You can log into your booking under the 'Log in' section on the Urban Adventures home page using your email address and reference number. From there, you can make changes to your existing booking. This includes adding extra people to your booking. Your request will then be sent to our local partner, who will aim to respond within 24 hours. To ensure we don't miss your request, if you need to make changes within 48 hours of the tour start time, you'll need to call the local operator directly to confirm these changes. The contact details for your local operator will be in your booking voucher.
What if I need to cancel?
Private tours may be refunded up to 48 hours prior to the tour minus the deposit. For our daily tour, you can cancel up to 48 hours prior to the tour's start time. Any cancellations made after that window are subject to a 100% cancellation fee, as per our terms and conditions
How do I provide feedback after the tour?
After your Arthur Avenue Food Tour you'll get an email asking for your feedback. If for some reason you don't receive a feedback email, you can also provide feedback on our website by logging in to your booking in the Log In section (top right corner of the site) using your email address and reference number. From there, you can find your previous tours and provide feedback by clicking the 'provide feedback' link. We welcome all comments, and appreciate you taking the time to respond.
