Welcome to New York's authentic little italy
Little Italy in the Bronx, called simply "Arthur Avenue," is New York's real Little Italy. It's home to dozens of Italian food shops and restaurants, most of which have been family-owned for between 50-100 years.
Our tour company is also a family business. We've been on Arthur Avenue since 1918 when Albino Oteri opened his shop here. We're not part of a big tour company selling food tours all around the city. (We're not fans of memorized tour scripts, big groups or playing follow-the-umbrella.) With us, you experience Little Italy not as a tourist, but as a guest at our family table.
As reviewed and covered by:
You could explore Little Italy on your own, but with so many decades here, we show you exactly where to find the best of everything. We know who makes the best mozzarella, who crafts their cannoli from a 115-year old award winning recipe and who makes the very best Italian sausage. Throughout the tour we'll weave in stories from how Arthur Avenue got its name to Broadway's "A Bronx Tale."
Hosts Danielle Oteri and Christian Galliani are also Italian food and wine experts. Danielle’s food and travel writing has been published in Conde Nast Traveler, Roads & Kingdoms and NPR. Danielle's family butcher shop was the set for the Academy Award winning movie "Marty." Christian is an award winning sommelier who was on the wine team at Michelin-starred Del Posto, lead sommelier at Tarry Lodge and Beverage Manager at Eataly Downtown. As a first generation Italian-American, he grew up shopping on Arthur Avenue with his immigrant parents.

What past guests have said about this tour
"My husband and I have experienced multiple food tours. This was by far the best. Danielle is a pro at her knowledge of history of this unique enclave and provided wonderful exposures to the local food including the most amazing mozzarella cheese ever! Wonderful!!!!"
"We had the best day on our Little Italy food tour in the Bronx! We weren’t quite sure what to expect and now we want all our family and friends to do this tour! Christian was so knowledgeable and you can tell he really enjoys providing such wonderful experiences to guests. We brought my grandmother and all of us had such an amazing time. This tour can be for all ages. Come hungry and ready to eat some of the best food you will have in New York and maybe elsewhere. It felt as close to Italy as we could possibly be without actually being in Italy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Thanks again Christian!"
"Bravo. Danielle is a real insider. Led us to the best of the best. Life is too short not to go on this tour especially if you are Italian or an Italian wanna be. The breads, the cheese, the soppresatta, the torrone...I could go on and on. Throw the calorie counter in the nearest trash can and ENJOY! Oh, did I mention the pizza?"
